This charming banana tree plantation is a typical scene in Sumatra, Indonesia. Makes you want to jump on a plane and go there right now, doesn't it. Well, if it does, by all means--GO. The citizens of Sumatra need you! Tourism is at an all time low on this beautiful island. The rains, the violence in the north and lack of knowledge has kept this beautiful gem hidden from many travelers. Yet, it is one of the favorite destinations of our trip. To make it even more attractive, it is dirt cheap.

Come with us as we meet orangu-tans face to face in the jungle in Bukit Lawang and relax in the beautiful setting of Danau Toba.

Note, that Indonesia is a huge country made up of many many islands, Java and Bali being the most popular. We decided to focus on Sumatra. We loved Sumatra so much, that we already plan to return to Indonesia to see Sumatra once again and experience the other islands as well.
