Welcome to Poland. Kelly's great grand parents immigrated to America from Poland, so she felt at home with her people. Rich felt at home too, because he was able to find delicious, and amazingly inexpensive, pierogis everywhere.
Pierogis are essentially dumplings with various fillings (meat, cheese, and/or potatoes are quite common) and are often covered with butter and pork cracklings, sugar or some other type of sauce. Try them sometime.
We really enjoyed the friendly country of Poland. It is an exciting country to visit at this time. The Poles are adjusting to capitalism quite well after decades of communism which followed the devastation of WWII. Join us as we visit the beautiful city of Krakow, which managed to stay free of the WWII bombs and cry with us as we share with you our experience from the Auschwitz concentration camps. |
