Idaho--Gem of the Mountains
We drove all the way up to Idaho to see our friends, Jen and John Bandow. It was well worth it, as the scenery was spectacular and they were fabulous hosts. They live in the small town of Victor. If you blink, you just may miss the downtown. It is our kind of place.
John and Jen live for outdoor sports. They love to downhill ski, cross country ski, bike, hike, and much more. The sign on the front of their shop gives the hours with a disclaimer that if it is a "powder day" with fresh snow, the hours may vary. One day we took the dogs out with us and went cross country skiing at Moose Creek.
It was our first time cross country skiing. The scenery was breathtaking. Sometimes we were in areas so steep we had to take off our skis to make our way up the mountain. It was nice taking the back routes. Kelly fell a lot. We both had a great time.
Jen has been skiing since she was young. She gave us a lot of great tips.
Victor is surrounded by mountains. It is a beautiful, quiet place to live. We can understand why our good friends have chosen to make their home here. While we were in Victor, John and Jen also took us over the state line into Wyoming to see the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole. We'll take you to Wyoming in just a few pages.
After
a fabulous time in scenic Idaho, we headed down to Las Vegas, Nevada to see
Rich's mom. However, we made a well worthwhile detour along the way
