This is the fun part.

Here, in the 2 Go Chronicles, we get to share with all of you what we're doing, who we're meeting, the food we're eating, and the other joys and wonders we're fortunate enough to experience.  And, yes, we'll also share with you the hardships and difficulties we encounter.  It ain't all going to be puppy dogs and ice cream.

  Pleased to Meet You. For us and, we suspect, for many of you as well, the  people you meet  during your journeys often provide wonderfully interesting and insightful learning experiences.  Periodically, we'll try to share such experiences with each of you by introducing you to certain persons and, in some small measure, conveying to you a sense of who they are and what life for them is like.  Meet some of them at Pleased 2 Meet You.

 The Essence of…  Part of the joy of travel is discovering a new place and getting to learn, and feel, what that place is like and about.  As we travel, we are ever vigilant to consciously attempt to identify what, to us at that given time, are the defining characteristics, or impressions, of any given locale.

Whether it is the premium placed upon logic and order in German society (for instance, Munich Subways have no gates or turnstiles to bar entry to people who have not bought tokens; all may enter the stations and trains freely, and the honor system, and occasional spot checks, provide the only necessary deterrent to free riders), the sidewalk cafes of Paris (all with theirs chairs directly facing the street to best allow their patrons to enjoy passing pedestrians), or the ritualistic bathing and cremations that occur at the Ganges River in Varanasi, India, aspects of daily life stand-out and intrigue us as traveling residents of the United States.  We plan on sharing certain of these with you in The Essence of…and, in doing so, hope to give each of you a better sense, and feel, of our destinations.  

2 Go Global Quote Board.  Somebody said something, it made an impression, and this is where we document and explain it for posterity.  Quotes are wonderfully evocative of time, place, and circumstances…here is where we try to capture a little of that, and share it with you.  

2 Go Best & Worst.  Many people have asked us, "What has been your favorite country?"  "Who has the best food?".  It sometimes takes us a while to really think about it and respond to these good questions.  So, now we have tried to anticipate your questions ahead of time.
